Green Stocking Stuffer Idea - Isabella Stainless Steel Water Bottle Review

While I am not totally green, I have made great strides over the last year to reduce our carbon footprint. One of the changes our family implemented was to no longer buy plastic water bottles. You see, nearly every weekend in the spring, summer, and fall, you will find our family out geocaching and letterboxing. We always take along water as some of the hikes are quite long. Once we realized how many plastic water bottles we were contributing to landfills, we switched to reusable water bottles. However, reusable water bottles contain BPA, the safety of which is questionable. So I have wanted to take it a step further and switch entirely to stainless steel bottles for when we are out hiking.

I was very grateful when I recently had the chance to review an Isabella Stainless Steel Water Bottle. Isabella Water is a company whose mission is to help others have access to clean water. I love it when companies are formed to help others, and not just make a profit.

There are two things I really love about Isabella Water. One is that for every stainless steel water bottle purchased, Isabella Water donates almost half that money to help fund wells in Asia or Africa. How awesome is that? Second, I love that their water bottles are BPA and toxin free. We may have safe drinking water in this country, but that doesn't mean it always comes packaged in the safest containers. With Isabella water bottles, I don't have to worry that dangerous chemicals are leaching into my drinking water!

Another cool feature I love about their water bottles is that they have a wide mouth, which makes it easy to fill with ice cubes. When we are out hiking, we always take along ice water. Some of the bottles we have tried do not have a big enough mouth for ice cubes. It is nice that we will be able to easily fill our new Isabella water bottle with ice cubes for hot summer days.
