No more hunting for lost lids! Covermate Review and Giveaway

CoverMate Food CoversI don't know if this happens to anyone, but I never have plastic lids when I need them. I am beginning to think my kitchen is part of the Bermuda Triangle! So I inevitably buy more plastic containers. Over time I have built up quite the collection of lid-less containers. Packrat that I am, I can't seem to throw them out.

So when I was given the chance to review CoverMate's Reusable Food Covers, I jumped at the chance. Maybe I could put some of those lid-less containers back in use.

CoverMate Food Covers

First some information from the company...
Whether you are covering a plate of leftovers, keeping a salad fresh, or taking a veggie tray to party, Covermate has you covered. New Covermate stretch-to-fit food covers provide a quick and easy way to cover all plates, bowls and containers.

Covermate covers are sold in individual boxes of medium size covers (12 ct), large size covers (10 ct) and our new Variety Pack (10 ct) which contains a selection of medium, large and extra large size covers.

CoverMate Food Covers

My Thoughts...
  • I like that the CoverMate Food Covers come in a variety of sizes. The extra-large size works great for covering a plate of food.  Sometimes my husband works late, so it is nice to be able to fix a plate of food for him and use one of the covers.
  • I also appreciate that the flexible band allows the product to be used on a variety of containers, no matter how they are shaped.  They worked equally well with round and square containers.
  • Each cover can be reused around 10 times (according to the company).  They are dishwasher safe (top rack).  I think in the long run, these covers will save quite a bit over plastic wrap.
  • They are microwave-safe and have built-in vents.  However, I never use plastic wrap in the microwave and probably wouldn't use these in the microwave either.  I do appreciate that the company warns on their website that you need to keep 1 inch between the cover and the food.
  • They are BPA free.  I am cutting down on the plastic I use in the kitchen due to BPA, so I appreciate that CoverMates are made without this harmful chemical.
I think I will use these a lot when I make bread and tortillas.  It works great for when the bread is rising!

For more information, I encourage you to watch this short video.

A big thank you to CoverMate for allowing me to review your product!

I have some odd-shaped bowls that Covermate may work great on.

Another use for Covermates would be to temporarily cover paint cans.

I'm just eager to use it in place of Saran Wrap...the no BPA is a must with my little one.

I would like to win these because I think they're great! Something like this was around when my oldest was young, and I loved them for covering things like cut watermelons or cantelope. (BTW I use some of my larger stray lids as a little cutting board when we are camping and such, works pretty good)

When I got married I got boxes of tupperware, but have since lost all the lids! This would make my life so much easier!

I currently re-use pieces of plastic wrap until they're ready to fall apart! (usually with disastrous results) I LOVE the idea of having something a quality cover to use and re-use!!!

I would love to win these because they are REUSABLE! How great is that? You always have to throw away plastic wrap and foil.

I think that covering your indoor plants with them would work if you were taking a short trip.

I have a lot of plastic storage containers with missing lids and I have been using plastic wrap and aluminum foil for covers, so these would be a great help.

A creative way to use these would be to cover hair when using a conditioner that needs to be left on for a while.

My daughter is graduating in June from high school we are having a surprise picnic for her.
Since I will need to make more food then I normally make, I don't have big enough containers with lids and have had no luck in finding huge storage containers, at the dollar tree I found big bowls but they have no lids so the covermate would be perfect

Thank you so very much for giving me a chance to be a winner

You could get a wood or platic hoop from a fabric craft store (the type you use for embroidery)
Put the covermate on hoop, paint a nice picture or take nice decals and stick on, get suction cups and hang on window or sliding glass door
