Tropical Traditions Laundry Detergent Review and Giveaway

I am making a real effort to switch over to all environmentally friendly cleaners.  So when I was given the chance to review Tropical Traditions Powdered Laundry detergent, I jumped at the chance.  Tropical Traditions Laundry detergent contains no phosphates or harmful by-products when it breaks down.  In addition, it contains no dyes or perfumes, so it is perfect to use if you have a family member who has allergies or is sensitive to scents.  I also appreciated that it is boosted by the power of oxygen bleach.  My 4 kids are rough on their clothes, so I can use all the help with the laundry I can get!

I used the detergent several times this past week and was pleased at how clean my laundry got with so little detergent.  The true test came over the weekend though.  My 7 year old decided she wanted to play on the slide, despite the fact that it had rained the day before.  She landed in the mud puddle at the bottom.  Her jacket was covered in mud!  Did I mention her jacket is a pale pink?!!  So I decided to see if Tropical Traditions powdered laundry detergent was up to the challenge.  I followed the package instructions for heavily soiled loads, which uses 1/2 cup instead of 1/4 cup.  I didn't pre-treat the jacket because I wanted to see how the detergent performed on its own.  To my surprise, it got all the mud out.  I was impressed!
